This new house design replaced a old, rundown structure on this lot in Hawthorne Hills. Working with developer D3 Design/Build, we designed the house to fit the lifestyle of an active, growing family. Open plan living spaces on the main floor allow easy interaction while still having discrete spatial identity, natural light fills the house through a central skylit stair hall, and four bedrooms upstairs can accommodate several children and an au pair or guest room, and includes a generous master suite. The design and material selection were rigorously developed to maximize their impact with a disciplined economy. The house had hundreds of viewings and visitors the first weekend on the market and sold in three days.
