The lobby remodel of this 1970’s building replaced a tired, worn, and brutal entry. We were brought in to revive the space and create a more inviting entrance for residents and their guests.
Anigre veneered panels and patinated steel details unite the three main spaces- an entry vestibule, main elevator lobby, and mail area. A modest concierge desk in the tight entry vestibule folds out when he is on duty and locks against the wall during off hours. A graceful vault over the main elevator lobby area replaced a heavy stepped ceiling. Indirect lighting from shelves on either side of the vault and a backlit opening behind the concierge desk soften the overall ambiance. The project also included an aluminum framed entry canopy under an existing building marquee to announce the lobby entrance.
