TRAVEL SKETCHES
The best way to remember the places we visit is to draw them. You see a moment or a view that grabs your attention, and in order to replicate the experience on paper you have to focus on the subject’s proportions, its highlights and shadows, textures, patterns, and composition in both 3D and 2D. Passively pressing a camera shutter lets you record everything and see nothing, to draw you have to edit the superfluous from the necessary. I have been sketching my entire life and especially like working in pen, sometimes with watercolor washes.
